Veterans Day!

This is the day that we celebrate all veterans - both living and deceased!

There are lots of Veterans' Day activities going on all over the United States today and you can find out more about this day by clicking here

Like a lot of other holidays, there are conflicting spellings. According to Wikipedia, the offical spelling is Veterns Day (and not Veteran's Day) - meaning that all Veterans are honored and remembered on this day.

Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11 in honor of those who have served in the armed forces of the United States.

The United States Department of Veterens Affairs also has a official Veterans Day website where there are photo galleries and downloads available.

Veterans Day was also formerly known as Armistice Day

Daylight Savings Time Ends Tonight!

In case you have forgotten, tonight is when we turn the clocks back one hour as Daylight Saving Time Ends!

It is also recommended that this is the time to change the batteries on your smoke detector as well!

As always - stay and be safe!

Daylight Savings Time Begins Tomorrow!

Daylight Savings Time will officially start at 2am Sunday Morning - that is at least 2 and 1/2 hours from now (at least where I live)

I also found out that the Savings Daylight time will end on November 4th, later this year.

"The federal government doesn't require U.S. states or territories to observe daylight saving time, which is why residents of Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Marianas Islands won't need to change their clocks this weekend."

Did you know that there are actually a few groups out there that want to abolish Daylight Savings Time?

It's supposed to save energy and time but there have been studies that have said that Daylight Savings Time does just the opposite!

For me I'm just glad that it won't get so dark so early anymore!
